Kitchekewana Chapter No. 167 - Move to Victoria Harbour
Chapter Room Dedication by Grand Chapter - Monday, March 10, 2008

The Midland Masonic Temple has been sold, and Kichikewana Chapter has moved to Victoria Harbour.   Their new home is at 229 Albert Street, Victoria Harbour.  The first meeting held there was Monday, December 10, 2007.

The Lodge Room will be officially dedicated for Chapter use on Monday, March 10, 2008.  This impressive ceremony will presided over by M.Ex.Comp. George H. Gifford, Grand First Principal.  He will be assisted by current Grand Chapter Officers.   If you have never seen this ceremony, be sure to attend.

District 9 Annual Meeting Report
Barrie Masonic Hall, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008

The end of year District Meeting was held on Saturday, March 8, 2008.  It was chaired by R.Ex.Comp. Frank Richardson, Grand Superintendent, assisted by Ex.Comp. Gary Banks, Secretary. At the meeting, Ex.Comp. Hal Belfry, Kichikewana Chapter No. 167, was elected to be the Grand Superintendent for 2008-09.   He selected Ex.Comp. Brian Hopkins to assist him as Secretary.

We thank R.Ex.Comp. Richardson and [now] V.Ex.Comp. Banks for a job well done.  We wish R.Ex.Comp. Belfry and Comp. Hopkins success as they travel the District in their official capacity.

One other event from the District Meeting bears reporting.  The Stanley L. Tonkin award, given by the District to a Companion who has rendered outstanding service to the District, was awarded to R.Ex.Comp. Eric Lakien of our Chapter.  As R.Ex.Comp. Lakien was unable to attend the Disitrct meeting due to health reasons, the Companions present at the meeting were pledged to secrecy so he would not find about it.  On April 1st, a contingent of Companions from the Chapters of the District, headed up by R.Ex.Comp. Richardson, attended Mount Sinai Chapter.  In a surprise presentation, the award was given, and acepted with humility.
